Summer Updates
Our 2018-2019 School Theme: "Rejoice always, Pray continually, Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God." -Thessalonians 5: 16-18
Happy August! We are officially in the final stretch of summer and I am preparing for a fun & exciting 8th grade year! I just returned from a beautiful family vacation in Seeley Lake, Montana. Check out the photos!

Firstly, I wanted to share how excited I am to be the new 8th grade homeroom teacher. I have been working with Mrs. Skraby to help transition into this new role. With that, please bear with me as I navigate this new position!
I am also so excited to continue to work with our famous Mrs. Mott and welcome our new team member Mrs. Wilson, who will be teaching 8th grade Religion and Science. Mrs. Wilson is a great addition to our Jr. High team and we are all very excited to get started!
While I will be relying on my SJA team, I will need your help as parents too! I believe that both parents and teachers who work together can mold and shape the best students. So please feel free to communicate with me directly any questions or concerns.
Speaking of parent help, I will need parent volunteers throughout the year to assist with events, and trust me, in 8th grade, we have a ton! Here are some positions that are now open and available!
Room parent(s)
Graduation Video editor/coordinator
For more information on all of our 8th grade events, I have created a new and improved website! This will be the platform that will be used to communicate important dates, resources, and events in our class. Additionally, my weekly newsletter will be published as a blog post that you can reference back to at any time and even comment on posts!
Along with a new website, Mrs. Lang and I have been working together to implement a new math curriculum for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade this year. I am so excited to share all the new materials we will be using! More info to come!
Lastly, as the leaders of our wonderful school, it is crucial that 8th grade follow not only behavior guidelines, but uniform guidelines as well. Please make sure that skirts are the appropriate length and gentlemen follow our haircut policy. Our handbook is currently being updated and can be referenced later this month.
Here are some upcoming dates to look ahead to:
Junior High Orientation: Thursday, August 23 @ 9am.
First Day of School, Noon Dismissal: Monday, August 27.
No School, Labor Day: Monday, September 3.
8th Grade Mass: Friday, September 7th @ 8am.
Picture Day: September 13.
Noon Dismissal: September 28.
Have a fun last few weeks of summer! Soak it all in!
All the best,
Ms. Mottles
PS: I am working on getting a mobile version of the site up and running, please comment below any feedback!
