What a great first week! I can't believe how fast it flew by. It was such a joy seeing all the kids back together. Here are a few things we accomplished!

1. We established class jobs, special shout-out to Alex M. & Lauren G. for doing an AMAZING job at raising and taking down the flag daily. They are ON IT!

2. We perfected our morning routine! I have the kids respond to quick writing prompts to get their brains moving in the morning. Some of the prompts included:

What was the craziest thing you did over the summer?

If you had a group of minions that would do ANYTHING you told them to...

Needless to say, the responses were quite creative.

3. We survived our first day of 8th grade and have crowns to prove it! Thanks to Kindergarten for sharing this special idea with us.

With week 1 done, week 2 is jam packed with events! Here are some reminders:

1. Please read our SJA weekly newsletter, which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ByXq63_PaHdNJlB1VZFRk6v4Offfe2gx2lm-5lwT1QA/edit

2. As we bid farewell to Pat Villa, he will be holding his last XLT worship event. XLT includes music, adoration, and is a great community event. It will be held tomorrow, Tuesday from 7-8:30pm in the church. There will be little to no homework assigned for the Jr. High tomorrow in case SJA families would like to attend.

The $300 tech fee was billed through FACTS the first week of school. If needed, SJA families can make arrangements to pay the fee in installments by contacting Aminy Johnson at ajohnson@saintjamesacademy.com.

The AUP form can be found here:

Additionally, cases are needed for the iPad Air 2.

6. All Mandatory Forms Due Tomorrow Completion is required at the beginning of each school year. Some families have turned in the emergency contact and medication forms, but still need to turn in the Handbook form. Forms can be turned in to the front office or emailed to Lisa Cooper: lcooper@saintjamesacademy.com. Any students with missing forms will not be admitted to school on Tuesday, 9/4.
