Another week in the books! A special thank you to all the parent volunteers that attended skip day! Please read this week's updates below. LOTS OF IMPORTANT INFO!

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. MAY CROWNING
- Girls & their mothers will be making their flower crowns this THURSDAY 5/9 at 11:30am. Mrs. Deakers will be providing pizza lunch (cheese & pepperoni) for the girls.
-The girls gowns have been sent home. Please wash on delicate and low dryer/hang dry. Girls are to wear their uniform under their gown. However, they can wear a plain white shirt instead of their polo. Girls also must wear white crew socks.
-Boys are to wear dress shirts (long sleeve), dress pants, dress shoes, and a tie. They may wear any color shirt.
-We have a professional photographer coming to the ceremony. He will be taking a boys group photo, a girls group photo, and a whole class photo immediately after mass at the Mary statue. We are on a tight schedule with the photographer because he is also taking the 2nd grade photos. PLEASE LET THE PHOTOGRAPHER TAKE THE GROUP PHOTOS FIRST, then we will have time for parents/family to take photos after. 2nd & 8th grade families will be charged $12 via FACTS to cover the cost.
-After the photos are taken, the mother/daughter reception (hosted by PiP) will be held in the social room.
2. LAST GRAD MEETING! - Next Tuesday (May 14th) at 8am in my classroom!
3. Parent Input/Feedback/Suggestion/SWOT Sessions: May 7th in Parish Office
As part of our accreditation process, SJA is currently conducting and writing a self-study to identify and craft goals, plus a new Strategic Plan that will meet short term needs, in addition to looking toward the future of Catholic education at the Academy. To help us understand and analyze all options, we invite families and parishioners to offer feedback, input and suggestions. Parents’ understanding of our history, wealth of knowledge and commitment to maintaining high standards and viability of SJA is valuable to the decision making process. We have one initial meeting date, facilitated by Advisory Board members scheduled for parents on May 7th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Please reference this letter for more information and directions to RSVP.
4. Zero Waste Friday, May 10 - The class with the least amount of trash in their lunches will get an air cleaning plant for their classroom. Please pack a lunch with reusable containers and limit waste!
5. iPad collection will occur May 28-29th. All students are responsible for any damage to their iPad. In addition, if any iPad is damaged (cracked screen, camera not working, etc.), please let Mrs. Wilcox know as soon as possible, so the school can purchase a replacement. Families will be charged for these replacements. 8th grade students who are leaving will need to know their Apple ID & password.
5. Mission Circle is collecting clothing and accessories for the annual Casa Eudes Fashion Show. Please bring in items in a bag labeled "Fashion Show" - due by Friday.
