8th Newsletter (may 20-24)

14 days left of 8th grade!! Here are this week's announcements.

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. We have our invite/RSVP platform for the graduation breakfast and dinner-dance up and running! Click HERE to access the site. Please note that all RSVP's must be submitted by MAY 28th!

2. VARIETY SHOW INFO:

8th Grade Costumes 2019 Variety Show Costume Reminder and Due Dates

The 8th grade class will be singing and dancing to the Broadway music from West Side Story and Dear Evan Hansen representing the state of New York. 

Costumes: Girls

SJA has ordered special skirts, please bring $10 donation.

Sharks: Red or black fitted top (no logos, not sleeveless) to match your assigned skirt, dress shoes (low heel ok), hair done in 1960’s style. 

Jets: White fitted top or top that matches your assigned skirt (but not black or red, no logos, not sleeveless), dress shoes (low heel ok), hair done in 1960’s style. 

Costumes: Boys

SJA will provide red ties, please bring $10 donation.

Sharks: Long black pants, black t-shirt (no logos), black or dark belt and socks and dark dress shoes if you have them (otherwise dark sneakers). Slick hair back Greaser style for performance.

Jets: Blue jeans, clean white t-shirt, white socks, sneakers (Converse if you have them). Slick hair back Greaser style for performance.

Officer Krupke (Arlsan): Blue pants, dark socks and dress shoes if you have them (otherwise dark sneakers). SJA has ordered police officer shirt, hat, baton.

Due Dates:

Thursday, 5/23: Costume due along with $10 costume donation 

Monday-Thursday, May 20-23: Final rehearsals TBD during school hours

Friday, May 24th 10:00 am: open Dress Rehearsal, 1:00 pm Final show 

(must attend both to participate :-)

5. St. James Middle School Youth Group Meeting - Sunday, May 26th

All middle school (6th-8th) grade students are invited and encouraged to attend the St. James Middle School Youth Group meeting on Sunday, May 26th. The meeting will be held from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the San Jose Youth Room in the Parish Ministry Center.

6. Teacher Appreciation Week THANK YOU!

Wow! Thank you so much for the overt displays of appreciation. SJA faculty and staff are feeling very spoiled and acknowledged for their hard work and dedication! Thank you, Melissa Mahon, her team, and parents who have made this special week possible! Our faculty and staff are grateful for all of your efforts!
