8th Newsletter (jan 14-18)

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. The high school placement test is Saturday, Jan 26th. It is best if you take the test at school you are most interested in attending. More info can be found on the respective high schools admission sites. Mrs. Mott & I will be doing some test prep about a week before the test, just so the kids are prepared for what kind of questions will be asked.

2. Here are the minutes from our last graduation meeting. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 5th at 8am. Please read them over!

3. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM MRS. MOTT/MRS. WILSON:

- 8th graders need fully charged iPads this week for Renaissance Testing

- Make sure you are continuing to earn service hours for this trimester!

- Students need to bring their NHD resources to class every day.

4. Altar Server Training: If any 8th graders are interested in becoming an altar server please have them come see me!

5. Please read the SJA weekly newsletter.

6. Parent Council Meeting is this Thursday, 1/17 at 8:00 a.m. PC representatives are strongly encouraged to attend and ALL moms and dads are invited! Please join us! If you’re not able to make the meeting but would like to assist sign up here.

7. Deacon Al’s 100th Birthday Celebration - please see the invitation for more details and to RSVP.

8. As part of Catholic Schools’ Week, we honor grandparents at a special mass and small reception on Friday, February 1st. Please use this link to RSVP.

9. SJA will be providing food and items for the Interfaith Shelter in the parish hall January 6-20; Please click here for more information and to sign-up.

10. Sunday, January 27th is our SJA open house. ALL Student Council Members are REQUIRED to attend.

Sun 1/27: SJA Open House & CSW kickoff: Students are invited to attend Sunday morning Mass and visit their classroom. Students who attend may wear free dress on Monday, January 28.
