8th Newsletter (jan 13-16)

It's a short week this week, but lots going on! Check out the updates below!

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. Annual Fund

In honor of the New Year and Catholic Schools' Week at the end of January, a generous donor has committed to matching ALL donations made this month up to $5000! WOW! So, if you're considering making a contribution, please do it NOW to take advantage of doubling your tax-deductible donation. 2. Grad Meeting

Please join us at our January Graduation meeting this Tuesday at 6pm. Now that we are past the holidays, the rest of the year zooms by, so planning is going to kick into high gear!

3. HSPT Prep

This week, Mrs. Mott, Ms. C, and myself will begin using class time to help students prepare for the High School Placement Test (Sat, Jan 25).

4. Uniform Check

As we enter a fresh year, we want all our students looking fresh too! Mrs. Lang will be coming around to complete uniform checks, please review the proper attire expectations with your child. We have many potential families and guests visiting our school and we want to look our best, while following school guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation. 5. No-Go-Tell Instruction

This week, Mrs. Wilson and I will be completing the No-Go-Tell training with the 8th grade students. Please take the time to read the Parent Letter with all the information we will be covering.

6. Christmas Program DVD

The deadline to purchase has been extended, stop by the front office for more information!

7. STAR Testing

We will be administering the Renaissance Star Tests this week. Please remind your students to have fully charged iPads!

8. From Mrs. Mott:

NHD registration check is due this Thursday, Jan 16 if students are entering the competition. Checks can be made payable to SJA.

8th grade Anne Frank book and annotations must be finished by Jan 31!

Tues 1/14: Grad Mtg @ 6pm

Thurs: 1/16: Mass & all iPads are collected for updates, NHD registration due

Fri 1/17: No School, WCEA work day

Mon 1/20: No School, MLK Day

Tues 1/21: Geography Bee

Thurs 1/23: 8th Attends Adoration

Sat 1/25: HSPT

Sun 1/26: SJA Open House

Fri 1/31: Grandparent's Day
