8th Newsletter: (dec 17-21)

It's our last week before break! It's going to be crazy, festive, and fun! Here are some important updates.

1. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to bring items to our Christmas breakfast. We will be celebrating this Thursday. Please drop off items on the counter first thing.


2. The student Secret Santa gifts are due this Thursday, we will be exchanging gifts on Friday.


3. Student costumes for the Christmas show are due today, Mon 12/17. Many students did not have them. PLEASE bring them ASAP!!!

The students are singing a surprise song for you at the Christmas pageant.

Costumes:

Girls: T-shirt or long top preferably long-sleeved, but short ok (no buttons or logos) in color that matches their secret hat; long black jeans, pants or leggings; black socks and boots/shoes/sneakers. If leggings are chosen, tops must be long enough to cover rear. 

Boys: T-shirt or plain top preferably long-sleeved, but short ok (no buttons or logos) in color that matches their secret hat; long black jeans or pants (belt optional); black socks and boots/shoes/sneakers.

Graded assignment: Students need to bring the above with accessories to school on Monday, Dec. 17th in a bag marked with their name.


4. CHRISTMAS PAGEANT INFO:

Our annual all school Christmas program will be held on Thursday evening, December 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Our program Festival of Lessons and Carols will be a prayer service celebrating the story of Christ's birth and featuring timeless Christmas and Advent carols from around the world. At 6:30 p.m., students in Grades K-6 should be DROPPED OFF at the front entrance of the school and Grades 7 and 8 at their respective classrooms. There will be no early entrance. Please wait patiently for the doors to the school and then church to be opened. There will be parent volunteers assisting teachers with costumes in each classroom and other parents are asked to please go to the church after drop off. Church front doors will open for parents and guests at 6:45 p.m. Please note that participation in this event is an integral part of SJA curriculum and is a graded assignment for all students.

6. SJA will be providing food and items for the Interfaith Shelter in the parish hall January 6th-20th; Please click here for more information and to sign-up.


Safety Announcement: Please slow down when driving through our parking lots during drop off and pick up. Also, if you park and walk to pick up your child(ren) please use the crosswalk to and from your car. It’s not safe to cross in between cars in the line while other cars are exiting or looking for parking. Thank you!
